프랑크푸르트 맛집찾기: Chinese restaurant near my home: Zum Golden Löwen

I didn`t know that there exists a Chinese restaurant near my area. I saw this restaurant a couple of times, but I assumed that it`s a German restaurant due to the name of it. I was planning to go to the Uighur restaurant on Thursday before the Easter holiday, but the restaurant was fully booked and we had to find the alternative. Having checked on internet, I noticed that this restaurant Zum Golden Löwen is actually not the German restaurant, but the Chinese restaurant. This restaurant has a good google review by the Chinese speaking people, so I assumed that this restaurant is not that bad.  They have a lamb hotpot which is not easy to find in Frankfurt. So, we reserved this menu in advance. For me, every foods were great, but my Chinese routine friends said that the lamb hotpot was really nice and the other menus were so so, acceptable.  I really recommend the Lamb hotpot and the Kung Pao chicken. 집에서 만들어 즐기는 족발요리

예전에 학생일 때에도 가끔씩 친구들을 집에 초대하여 음식을 해먹었었다. 그당시에는 인턴을 하던 회사 숙소에서 생활을 하여 전기세, 물세 걱정을 하지 않고 음식을 준비했었던 것으로 기억한다. 그래서 시간이 좀 오래 걸리는 요리들도 그리 부담없이 집에서 해먹곤 하였는데 이제는 전기세 폭탄이나 물세 폭탄을 받지 않을까하여 약간 걱정이 들기는 한다. 그래도 오랫만에 족발요리를 해먹고 싶어졌다. 물론 한식 레스토랑에서 먹을 수도 있으나 여기서 만드는 족발은 이전에 만든 것들이라 신선도도 떨어지고 양도 너무나 부족하다. 족발을 사려고 여러 슈퍼마켓을 들렸으나 파는 곳이 없다. 집근처도 들르고 정육점에도 들렀으나 물건이 없어서 결국 회사 근처의 카우프란드까지 들려서 구매를 하였다. 여기서 보니 없는게 없다. 다음에는 감자탕도 한번 먹어봐야 하겠다.  족발은 3팩을 구매하였는데 한팩당 거의 1kg이 들어있는 것 같다. 큰거랑 작은거랑 두개가 들어있는데 아마 위쪽이랑 아래쪽이랑 나뉜 것 같다. 일단 핏물을 빼기 위해서 찬물에 약 4시간 정도 담궈 놓았다. 물을 다 버리고 다시 찬물을 받아서 끓이다가 족발을 입수시켰다. 돼지냄새를 없에기.위해서 물에 와인 절반정도를 붓고 약 30분간 끓였다. 시간이 지나니 뼈등에 달라붙은 불순물들이 다 끓여져 나온다. 족발들을 꺼내서 흐르는 물에 세척을 한 뒤 두번째 끓이기를 시작하였다. 이번엔 족발의 말과 색, 그리고 다시 잡내를 잡기위한 온갖 재료들이 들어갔다. 넣었던 재료들은 된장, 커피, 정향, 통후추, 마늘, 생강, 양파, 파, 월계수잎이다. 약 1시간 정도 끓여서 족발을 완성하였다. 족발 먹을 때 같이 곁들여먹는 것은 뭐니뭐니해도 막국수가 최고인 것 같다. 막국수의 국수를 구하기 어려워 메밀 국수로 대체를 하였다. 색깔은 대충 비슷하다. 소스는 배를 하나 째로 갈아넣고, 그리고 멸치액젓을 추가로 넣으니 그 특유의 맛이 좀 난다. 성공이다. 영원한 족발의 친구 막국수 푸짐한 족발 한상,...

프랑크푸르트 맛집찾기: Another Chinese grill restaurant in FFM: Zum Hufnagel

I went to the Chinese grill restaurant gagaxiang last week. This restaurant was closed for a couple of months due to the cleanness issue of the restaurant. And then it opened again some time ago. One good thing of this restaurant is, the price of the bottle soju is really cheap. It costs only 5 Eur. Other Korean restaurants have the higher price of the soju like 15 Eur, that why this Chinese restaurant is fully occupied by the Korean customers. Another Chinese restaurant is newly opened and of course we wanted to try it. The restaurant is located near the Galluswarte S-Bahn station, just a couple of minutes far from the station. The name 'Zum Hufnagel' might come from the previous restaurant. It would be great to change the name to the Chinese name, but it will be easy for the German customers to remember the name. 프랑크푸르트 맛집찾기: Ramen Jun Red

As I know, there are 4 Japanese ramen restaurants in Frankfurt. Two are located near the Messe, one is at the Konstablawache and the last one is in the Sachsenhausen. The one in Konstablawache is newly opened. As it's name says, it is a branch of the ramen jun in the Messe. I really liked the rich flavor of the ramen jun in the Messe, so I look forward to try the ramen at this branch.  It was a bit late time to visit the restaurant. It's Sunday afternoon 2 PM. Almost the half of tables were still occupied. Unlike the other Japanese ramen shops, the staffs were half Asians and half Europeans. And least they did not try to speak any Japanese like greetings(Irasshaimase!) to us ^^ They have many different variants, and many of the dishes have the spicy flavors. 프랑크푸르트 맛집찾기: Spicy food in Höfchen Chinese restaurant again

Probably it was 6 months ago that I went to the spicy Chinese restaurant Höfchen. This restaurant was newly opened, so they did the 10% promotion at that time. As I remember, the taste of the food was excellent. The price was a  bit higher than the other Chinese restaurants in Frankfurt, but the quality of the food and the atmosphere compensated that additional price.  It was the day I had to run 32km, the last longest training just before the Paris marathon. I wanted to have any compensation after the training, so I collected friends who wanted to have a spicy dinner night.  The exterior of the restaurant is just same as before, but the interior was well improved. It looks like we were in a luxurious restaurant in China. We were total 8 people on that dinner, so we ordered 7 dishes for all. 간편히 집에서 스키야키 만들기

예전에 친구들과 집에서 스키야키를 만들어 먹었었는데 그때 구매하였던 스키야키 소스의 유통기한이 거의 간당간당하다. 소스야 뭐 조금 기한을 넘겨도 괜찮지 않을까하는 생각이 들긴 하였지만 그래도 날짜가 지나간다는 것이 좀 꺼림칙하긴 하다. 그래서 오늘 저녁은 남은 음식 처리하기다.  스키야키에 사용되는 고기는 정말 종이장처럼 얇아야하는데, 우리집 근처의 REWE  아주머니는 그러면 먹을게 없다고 엄청 두껍게 쓸어주셨다. 이러면 고기를 살짝 담궜다가 빼는게 아니라 엄청 오랬동안 끓여야할 듯 싶다. 야채는 조촐하게 집에 남은 재료를 사용하였다. 시타케 버섯이랑 두부 반모, 호박 반통, 그리고 전에 요리하고 남은 배추들을 좀 썰어서 올렸다.  오늘의 저녁, 스키야키 다른 종류의 버섯이라던가, 곤약이라던가를 넣으면 더 맛나겠으나 내 냉장고는 항상 터질 듯 하고, 일단 있는 음식들을 좀 처리하는 것이 더 중요하지 싶다. 소스가 좀 많아서 약간 생각보다 많이 달짝찌근하다는 생각이 들긴하나 이정도면 뭐 나쁘지 않다는 생각이 든다. 소스로 생달걀을 풀어먹는 이도 있으나 독일에서 그렇게 먹으면 바로 살모렐라균에 감염되어 골로 갈 것 같아서 이건 패스다. 소금이랑 후추, 그리고 고추가루를 섞은 소스를 곁들여 먹었는데 나름 나쁘지 않다. 적당히 고기와 야채를 골라먹은 이후에 우동사리를 넣어서 끓여먹었는데 우동이 모든 국물들을 흡수해서 엄청 맛있었다. 이거 나름 괜찮은 것 같다. 

프랑크푸르트 맛집찾기: Spainish tapas restaurant Weiße Lille in Bornheim

One of my customers got a new job offer and his colleagues wanted to have a farewell dinner together. I was also invited to this dinner and well it's in Frankfurt. They decided to go to the restaurant Weiße Lille which was once I tried to book before. This restaurant is small and popular, so it was not easy to book with a big group. It was possible to book because the date was during the weekdays. We decided to order 2 tapases for each, well I was not sure whether the amount is big enough. I can eat at least 4 or 5 tapases, so 2 tapases are rather a small portion.  It seems like my customers don't like seafoods at all.
