BAEGOPA LEE: FRANKFURT

The first time I ate fondue was the year 2006 in Switzerland. At that time, I did not have much budget in my pocket, but I wanted to eat the fondue just because it was super popular in among Korean tourists in Switzerland. But I promised that I would never eat this fondue again because I thought that it was overpriced. I ate this Summer again and still have same opinion that this food is overpriced. A friend of mine asked to have a fondue night at his home. He has the fondue stuff at home, so we just needed to buy some cheese and other veggies. He and his wife already prepared all (chop and cook the veggies, melt the cheese) and we could start to enjoy the fondue immediately. They mixed two different kinds of cheese. I forgot the name of the two, but the taste was great. We had 3 blocks of the cheese packs. A friend of mine recommended me to visit the chinese grill restaurant in HBF a couple of time, but I was not sure to be there due to the low evaluation on google website. And also, the name of the restaurant was not clear, so I did hesitate to visit the restaurant.  As usual, me and other friends searched for a new restaurant, but we could not find somewhere new. And then I recommended them to try this restaurant. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was embarassed because there were no empty seats(I booked for 10 people) and the staff could speak chinese only. I had to wait other friends who could speak chinese.  We waited approximately. 20 minutes and then we could have a table. I noticed that I never been to any french resutarants in Frankfurt. I just went to the french restaurants when I was in France. I heard many times that the taste of french food is great, but I had no chance to be there due to the high price of the food. I used to go to the resturants in Frankfurt on Wednesday with two friends quite often. But 1 friend was very busy due to his wedding. And myself also due to the long holidays. We discussed to see each other again and it was yesterday that we re-unite again. One friend wanted to try the french restaurant and actually it was not a bad trial. The restaurant is located at the Westend. There are a couple of nice looking tables and the staffs there were very kind. A friend of mine told me after the dinner that this restaurant was one of few restaurants in Frankfurt where you could have great service and great food. I agree with his opinion. I think pak choi is the restaurant where I went most times in Frankfurt. Even I have many companions, I could book the table on that day. The rotation of the table is great. Most people stay at the restaurant only for 1 hour or less. We were total 7 people, so we ordered 7 dishes. We always ordered the same dishes, so it was required to order something else. But this time, we ordered the exactly same menu I had before. Only the pork rip was the new menu I never tried before. water boiled fish, my favorite meal in pak choi new try pork rib, not bad spicy squid, great taste chicken chilly, great taste with beer sweet eggplant, a bit too sweety garlic water spinach, it makes not to tried of eating meat only

My colleagues from Korea wanted to visit the biggest outlet in Germany. The city Metzingen is approximately 2 and a half hours far from Frankfurt. My collaues will drive there and I just need to follow them. The size of the outlet city is not that much big than I expected. There are just a couple of shops in this town. But the Hugo Boss shop was really big. I think it is not worth to visit if you want to buy like Adidas or Nike, Esprit. But if you planned to buy a luxery items from Gucci or expensive shops, then you are at the right place to save a lot of money. Or if you like to buy famous german kitchen stuff like WMF, it is worth to visit here. I bought two frying pans woth 55 Eur which costs 75 Eur by ebay.

It was already twice that I planned to visit this restaurant Goc Pho and cancelled. And finally I could eat dinner at the restaurant. This restaurant is close from the Hauptwache, but it is not easy to find it since it is located in the hidden place. Hidden place near Hauptwache I came here with 7 friends. It means that we could order 7 different dishes!!! We discussed to order a starter we could make by ourselves, but it may be a bit messy when everyone tried to make them. I wanted to have some rest after the trip to Nepal. And my flight company was Thai airways. They offer good priced ticket to the Phuket island, and there exists a direct flight to Frankfurt!!! So, I moved to Phuket after 2 weeks demanding trekking in Nepal. The first day in Phuket was only 3 hours. I arrived at the Phuket airport at 9PM and then arrived at the Hotel at 11pm. I had only 80 Bht in my pocket and all currency exchange shops were closed. So, I had great sleep at first day. It was great choice to stay at the Kata beach. The color of the water was very clear, not regreted. The one problem was, there were so many chinese tourists in Phuket. It is not problem that I saw the chinese tourists, but most thai people tried to talk in chinese to me to sell something. More than 100 people tried to talk to me everyday in chinese and it was super annoying!!! It was more annoying than someone tried to talk in English just because I cannot understand at all.
